I uploaded this image onto Facebook and they banned me for a week. A fucking week…

People are uploading videos of girls fingering themselves, a man cumming in a woman’s face, people getting tortured and straight up porn. But THIS a picture of Amanda Palmer who just happens to be shirtless, celebrating her Kickstarter success, with no sexual connotations, simply because it might offend some children. Here’s the thing, I don’t have kids on Facebook, also, kids don’t have innocence, thirdly a woman’s naked upper body shouldn’t be something seen as sexual when it is not the intention. If I can see the hairy man tits of some balding bastard I think Amanda Palmer’s naked torso should be OK…

Gin - 1 1/2 oz

Lime Juice - 1/2 oz

Simple Syrup - 1 oz

Angostura Bitters - 1 dash

Blend everything with 1 cup of crushed ice and pour into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a green maraschino cherry.

Served by Tony Ramos of the China Trader Restaurant in Burbank, California, 1963. Unlike the classic Gimlet, the drink uses fresh lime juice sweetened with simple syrup, so it’s more like a gin-based Frozen Daiquiri.

Most classic cocktail enthusiasts dislike frozen drinks, and to be fair, the classic and proper versions of the Daiquiri, Margarita and Gimlet will always beat the frozen version no doubt; but frozen drinks aren’t all that bad, yes they may be watery, weak, and very sweet, but that’s why they are prefect for the summer, when you’re dying of thirst. If I came back thirsty on a hot summer day, I know for a fact that I’d want something very watery and light just to get ready for stronger drinks later.

The Angostura bitters made a huge improvement in this heavily diluted drink, I’m glad the flavour of spices from Angostura did not diminish, it really brings out the gin, reminding you that this is more of an aromatic cocktail rather than sour.
